Why we built IGNIS
Because asking a second person is one of the best habits there is, and it should be easy.
The idea
Most of us have paused over a text or email and wondered, “Is this real?” Scam messages are designed to look ordinary and to make us hurry. A calm second opinion helps, but a family member is not always nearby, and many people do not want to bother anyone.
IGNIS makes that second opinion simple. You forward the message. We tell you what we think and what to do next. If you choose, a family member hears about it too, so nobody has to worry alone.
What we believe
- Asking is smart. Careful, capable people get fooled by well-made scams. It is nothing to be embarrassed about.
- Plain words. No jargon, large text, one clear next step.
- Honesty about limits. We give our best read and say when we are not sure. We cannot promise to catch every scam, and we do not offer insurance or get money back.
- You stay in charge. We never link to bank accounts and we only see what you choose to send us.
A bit of background
Reports to the FBI show that scams affect many families. In 2025, people aged 60 and older filed 201,266 complaints with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and reported about $7.7 billion in losses ($7.748 billion). This counts only reports that people chose to file with IC3, so it is a partial picture and not a count of every scam.

We do not share numbers like this to worry you. We share them because they are a reason to make checking easy and normal, which is what we are trying to do.
Where we are now
IGNIS is an early preview. We are not open for sign-up yet. If you would like to hear when we are, join the waitlist. It does not create an account or charge you. [PLACEHOLDER: founder or team story, names and photos, if wanted]
